Sur La Table Cooking Class: A Taste of Tuscany
/J purchased a cooking class from Sur La Table for me for Christmas, and Saturday night we got to enjoy it together! I had gifted my mom a class we did together a few years ago and we had a blast, so I was very excited that J and I could experience one together.
Sur La Table offers cooking classes in the stores all year long! They provide a monthly calendar online and in-store of all the upcoming classes so you can choose from themes like "Soups from Around the World" and "Taco Revolution". (Each store has a different calendar, so be sure to select the store you prefer.)
We attended "Date Night: A Taste of Tuscany" and made a delicious meal while learning useful cooking tips! Our menu was:
- Bruschetta with Slow Roasted Shallots and Goat Cheese
- Herb Crusted Pork Tenderloin with White Bean and Wild Mushroom Ragout
- Poached Pears with Prosecco Zabaglione
Sur La Table allows you to bring your own wine into the class, so don't forget. They'll provide glasses and openers. We brought along If You See Kay, a delicious Italian red blend we were gifted by my BFF. It paired very well with the menu of the evening.
Since the class boasted a more intimate setting with only about 12 people, we were divided into groups of four and worked together to create our courses.
We had a great time getting to know the couple we worked with, as well as those working beside us. Our meal actually came out great and we left proud of ourselves!
I wish I had taken more photos of us prepping, but I would've had to keep washing my hands each time I touched my phone for hygienic reasons. Plus, I'm so bummed I missed a photo of the dessert. It looked so pretty and tasted amazing. :/ Oh well. I'll just have to go back and take another class...
If you're looking for an exciting and unique date experience, or really just an experience to share with friends and family, I highly recommend cooking classes.
