Wine Tasting with WineShop AtHome

The fact that I was even up and writing this the next day deserves some praise. I invited some gal pals over for a wine tasting party this weekend and before we knew it, it was 1:45 a.m. and we had about 7 empty bottles on the table. I got my happy butt into bad at 2 a.m. and WAS UP BY 6:30 a.m.! What the heck?? I basically napped...

When my friend Danielle told me about her new business as a Wine Consultant for WineShop At HomeI jumped at the chance to host a tasting party of my own. I've been to several at-home jewelry and make-up parties, but have never been interested in hosting one. My friends and I aren't necessarily in to that sort of thing. But when Danielle explained that she leads at-home wine-tasting parties, I asked her "When can I host my own!" If there's one thing I know, I know that my friends would happily join me for some wine and food.

I loved how easy it was to set everything up. All I had to do was pick out my "Sampler" pack which was delivered to my door in plenty of time before the party. When the package arrived, it had everything I needed to host - information about the wines we'd be tasting, pairing recipes, and menus.

I rallied my troops, planned the food I'd be serving, and sent out the invites!

I picked up some cheese, fruit, and chocolate from the store and whipped up two different recipes from the menu cards. I also put together a homemade pizza because wine and pizza...Enough said.

Danielle walked us through each wine, its flavor profile and what foods on the table the wine pairs nicely with. She was also knowledgeable about the company and their mission to provide impressive quality wines at an affordable cost to consumers.

I'm not going to lie- I was a little skeptical about how good these wines were going to be, but all of us were so pleasantly surprised! They tasted great and supposedly free of a lot of the preservatives in most store-bought brands that cause terrible hangovers. WIN!
